Description
A globally recognized financial institution is seeking a QA & Methodology Audit Specialist to oversee and improve the quality and methodology framework of its internal audit function. This role involves developing audit KPIs, conducting quality reviews, benchmarking against global standards, and enhancing internal audit methodologies and training. You will contribute directly to the continuous improvement of audit processes across the firm's global network and support audit teams with expert-level guidance.Key Responsibilities
- Design, update, and implement audit KPIs and metrics to support continuous improvement
- Conduct global quality assurance reviews of audits and follow up on identified improvement areas
- Support benchmarking analyses against evolving industry standards and regulatory frameworks
- Prepare quality-related reporting materials for audit committees and internal governance meetings
- Lead updates and maintenance of internal audit methodologies, templates, and process guidelines
- Plan and deliver methodology training to strengthen team capabilities
- Provide day-to-day guidance and advisory support to audit teams on methodology-related issues
- Certification such as CIA required; CPA or CFA is a plus
- Hands-on experience in internal audit within financial institutions, or audit firms
- Deep understanding of IIA standards, Basel guidelines, and financial regulatory frameworks
- Strong track record of working in bilingual environments (Japanese and English used regularly)
- Proven ability to execute high-impact tasks with accuracy
- Skilled at managing projects with consistency and attention to detail
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Fluent
- Experience designing or leading internal audit quality programs
- Strong reporting and presentation skills for senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of governance frameworks in investment banking or securities
