Description
The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence seeks a collaborative and motivated professional to serve as Director of the Oklahoma School Foundations Network (OSFN) and the Oklahoma Public Schools Foundation (OKPSF). This role provides leadership for two statewide initiatives that strengthen community support for public education and expand philanthropic investment in Oklahoma’s public schools, offering the opportunity to help shape the future of these growing efforts.
Position Overview
This position serves as Director of the Oklahoma School Foundations Network (OSFN) and Director supporting the Oklahoma Public Schools Foundation (OKPSF), a separate nonprofit organization for which the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence provides administrative support.
In this dual role, the Director works with public school foundations, education leaders, school districts, and philanthropic partners across Oklahoma to strengthen community support for public schools. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and project management skills and plays an important role in advancing and helping shape OFE’s statewide impact.
The Director balances external partnership development with internal coordination and systems support, helping ensure the effective operation and continued growth of both initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and coordination for the Oklahoma School Foundations Network (OSFN), supporting public school foundations across Oklahoma through consultation, training, retreats, webinars, and ongoing outreach.
- Support the continued development and growth of the Oklahoma Public Schools Foundation (OKPSF) by helping implement operational systems, organizational processes, and program infrastructure that support the foundation’s statewide work.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public school foundations, school districts, education leaders, and philanthropic partners across Oklahoma to strengthen community support for public education.
- Maintain governance documents, policies, and operational procedures and coordinate board communications, meeting materials, and logistics for OKPSF board and committee meetings.
- Manage and maintain the statewide school foundation contact database and ensure consistent communication with OSFN members as foundation leadership changes occur.
- Coordinate OSFN training opportunities, networking activities, and the Outstanding Program Awards, highlighting innovative programs among Oklahoma school foundations.
- Partner with the Oklahoma School Boards Association (OSSBA) and other education stakeholders to promote awareness of the Oklahoma Public Schools Foundation and support engagement with school districts and community partners.
- Develop program collateral, communication materials, and outreach resources to promote the missions and initiatives of OSFN, OKPSF, and the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.
- Serve as a key point of coordination for both initiatives, ensuring effective communication, organization, and follow-through across projects, partnerships, and program activities.
- Represent OSFN, OKPSF, and OFE at education and community events and collaborate with the communications team to share the impact of public school foundations and philanthropic support for public education.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience with public schools, school foundations, nonprofit administration, board development, or fundraising preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing
Ability to make independent decisions and manage responsibilities with accountability
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and develop strategies to accomplish objectives
Ability to work collaboratively with partners, staff, and volunteers
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized records
Proficiency with personal computers and software applications including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Ability to travel periodically throughout Oklahoma for meetings, trainings, and events

Full-time salary commensurate with experience. Health, dental, and retirement benefits. Paid holidays and vacation.
