Private Equity Analyst (Expansion Capital / Buy‑out Strategy)

Location: Germany

A leading European mid‑market private equity investor is seeking a Private Equity Analyst (Analyst 2/3 level) to join its Expansion Capital team in Germany. The platform is known for its strong culture, collaborative working style, and long‑term partnership approach with management teams across the German Mittelstand.

This role is well suited to a junior candidate looking to develop into a well‑rounded investor within a smaller, highly engaged team, offering meaningful responsibility and hands‑on training from an early stage.

The Role

• Support the evaluation and execution of minority and buy‑out investments in profitable, growth‑oriented businesses
• Build and analyse financial models, investment cases, and downside scenarios
• Assist with commercial, financial, and operational due diligence processes
• Prepare investment committee materials and presentations
• Work closely with senior team members across deal execution and portfolio topics
• Gain exposure to management teams, advisers, and other key stakeholders over time

Candidate Profile

• Around 2 years of experience from an Investment Banking background
• Strongly execution‑focused experience in M&A, leveraged finance, or relevant sector coverage
• Experience from a private equity fund is also relevant, provided core skillset was developed in IB
• Consultancy backgrounds are not being considered
• More junior profile, aligned to Analyst 3 level
• Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills
• Analytical, intellectually curious, and commercially minded
