About Stamos Capital Partners and the Partner Capital Group
Stamos Capital Partners, L.P. (“SCP” or the “Firm”) is an independent, privately owned investment management firm with more than $7.6 billion in assets under management. Our primary mission is to serve high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private foundations, endowments, trusts, and other clients that share the Firm’s core values. We seek to preserve and build wealth for our clients and investors through sophisticated, multi-asset class investment solutions on a global basis.
The Partner Capital Group (“PCG”) is the firm's wealth management group: a focused internal team that treats each of our investment families or endowments as a “partner”, offering institutional-quality solutions, public- and private-market access on a global basis, and integrated planning.
As a member of the Firm’s PCG team, you will play an active role in (a) understanding the objectives of our investment partners, (b) developing and communicating the Firm’s macroeconomic and asset allocation views, (c) assisting in developing investment strategies based on these views and objectives, and (d) communicating the performance of these strategies relative to these objectives.
Title:
Director, Portfolio Management
Manager for a highly-qualified, but less experienced hire
Reports to: Jeff Soukup and Mark Colella, Managing Partners, Partner Capital Group
Location: Menlo Park, California; in-office
Type: Full-time, exempt
The Role:
The Director or Manager, Portfolio Management runs the day-to-day activities of the investment portfolios for a dedicated group of PCG families and serves as their primary contact for all investment activities. We view our clients as partners, working hand-in-hand with us on the decisions that shape their portfolios. This role brings that partnership to life, delivering institutional, portfolio management to each family: multi-asset allocation in the context of a macroeconomic view, manager selection, and disciplined risk management. Your job is to lead (in many cases) and coordinate (in all cases) these functions on behalf of our investment partners. You will do this across public and private markets on a global basis.
You will work closely with the PCG Wealth Managers, who lead planning, and with the firm's other investment and research teams that manage the day-to-day functions of many of the Firm’s funds-of-funds and direct investment funds.
What You Will Do:
Manage Portfolios. Own asset allocation, implementation and rebalancing for a book of family portfolios across fixed income, absolute return, equity hedged, public equity, private equity, and real assets asset classes. In addition to understanding each family or foundation’s investable assets, you will also understand their total assets and the role each plays in meeting their overall financial objectives.
Write, Maintain and Adhere to Investment Policies. Draft and maintain each family's investment policy statement, reflecting goals, risk tolerance, liquidity, taxes and time horizon.
Help Coordinate and Oversee Private-Market Programs. Size commitments, model capital calls and distributions, manage liquidity and track vintage-year pacing for each family.
Lead Portfolio Investment Reviews. Present investment strategies and performance and attributions to families; explain market views clearly and candidly.
Contribute to Research. Help develop and update the Firm’s macroeconomic outlook. With this as a key input, analyze investment solutions, prepare investment committee materials, and help shape PCG model portfolios.
Manage Tax Strategies and Investment Concentration. Along with the Firm’s Wealth Managers and, where appropriate, outside tax advisors, develop and implement tax-sensitive investment strategies (including tax-loss harvesting strategies) and risk management solutions for concentrated positions.
Own the Portfolio Details. Oversee trading, reporting accuracy, and compliance across the book.
Help Support a Growing Practice. Support new-client presentations, analyze and build proposed portfolios for prospective families, and transition legacy holdings.
