Role profile
As a key member of the People Data & Insights team, you will play a pivotal role in the stewardship and governance of our people data assets. This position is responsible for managing data and metric definitions, metadata repositories, ensuring data quality processes and monitoring, and delivering policy training and upskilling for colleagues. As the Core People Data Steward, you will both champion data governance methodologies and support non-permanent data stewards across the organisation, helping them embed high standards in their domains. Additionally, you will maintain and be responsible for the data entitlements framework to ensure ongoing compliance and secure data access.

Our work spans real-time cloud-based analytics, embedded dashboards, employee listening, and advanced modelling to guide programme and workforce decisions - all grounded in ethical data use and responsible AI. The role offers exposure to global data governance transformation, international collaboration, and continuous learning.
What You'll Deliver:
Are you ready to shape the future of people data and drive meaningful change? In this role, you'll:
- Define and embed external data ownership, stewardship, and accountability for workforce planning and external workforce data across systems including Adaptive, Workday, Fieldglass, and associated
- Support overall External workforce data standards, definitions, and a business glossary to ensure consistent interpretation of headcount, FTE, positions, costs, and external worker metrics.
- Design and operate a data quality framework, including validation rules, issue logging, prioritisation, and remediation for external, planning and forecasting data.
- Support data flows and reconciliation between workforce planning outputs and financial actuals, defining clear rules for adjustments, overlays, and acceptable variances.
- Establish governance for external workforce data, including headcount methodology, FTE conversions, rates, supplier attribution, and compliance considerations.
- Reduce dependency on manual spreadsheets and off system processes by standardizing planning inputs and controls that align with Adaptive's operating model.
- Embed data governance into the Operational workforce planning operating model, planner roles, and super user responsibilities, supporting MVP delivery and scale up readiness.
- Act as a central point of coordination for external data governance controls, risks, decisions, and escalations within workforce programmes.
- Partner with People, Finance, Procurement, and Technology teams to ensure governance enables scenario modelling, forecasting, and decision making, not just compliance.
- Experience in data governance, data stewardship, or data management roles, preferably supporting HR, workforce, or people data in complex organisations.
- Expertise in developing metric and data definitions, metadata management, and implementing data quality frameworks.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging policy training and support the upskilling of data users and stewards.
- Thorough understanding of HR data domains, data governance frameworks, and methods for managing people data.
- Strong partnership skills, working collaboratively with data stewards, technical teams, and business users to embed governance standards.
- Demonstrated analytical, organisational, and communication skills-capable of translating governance requirements into practical solutions. Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and improvement in the data governance space. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
