Location and Schedule Requirements
This position will primarily report to the Carla Madison Recreation Center (2401 E. Colfax Ave., Denver).
Most events occur during evenings and weekends. Availability is required for event setup, duration, and post-event breakdown.
What We Offer
Event Facilitators are paid $22.53/hour. This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. Oncall positions may have a routine or variable work schedule and will work no more than 39 hours per week. On-call positions are eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits.

Join the City and County of Denver’s Department of Parks of Recreation (DPR) as an Event Facilitator and play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional events across our diverse network of recreation centers and historic venues. This on-call position offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work with a mission-driven team dedicated to community engagement and outstanding customer service.
Denver Parks & Recreation hosts a wide range of events—from birthday parties and weddings to corporate meetings and community gatherings. As an Event Facilitator, you will be the on-site liaison ensuring smooth and successful event execution.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting facility tours and pre-event walkthroughs with clients
Serving as the day-of, on-site contact for clients and guests
Explaining and enforcing venue policies and procedures
Responding to inquiries via phone and email
Coordinating with internal staff and external vendors
Monitoring event activities to ensure compliance with regulations and contracts
Assessing damages and conducting post-event evaluations
Addressing and resolving event-related issues or emergencies
Performing other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for Event Facilitators who take pride in ensuring events run smoothly from start to finish. You’ll be the on-site presence that helps our clients feel confident, supported, and well-served throughout their event experience. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with prior event facilitation experience, especially those who have worked with corporate or wedding events.
Key Qualifications:
Flexible Availability: Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends to accommodate event schedules.
Customer Service Excellence: Proven experience in face-to-face customer service, ensuring guests feel welcomed and valued.
Conflict Resolution Skills: Ability to effectively mediate and resolve customer concerns, maintaining a positive atmosphere.
Event Facilitation Experience: Hands-on experience coordinating events, with a preference for those who have managed corporate or wedding events.
Certifications: Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are highly desirable.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of customer service work in special events or related industry.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
Licensure/Certifications: None
