Our client is a prominent player in the FMCG sector with a strong regional presence across Singapore and Malaysia. They are currently seeking a meticulous and driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their Finance team in Johor Bahru. This role acts as a critical business partner, ensuring financial transparency, robust credit risk management, and the optimization of working capital.
Your New Role
Reporting to the FEC Lead, you will take full ownership of the Accounts Receivable (AR) function for Singapore and Export entities. You will be responsible for the entire Order-to-Cash (OtC) cycle, ensuring the AR ledger is accurate and customer payments are collected on time.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ledger Management: Review and monitor customer receivables aging and perform monthly reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accruals for trade-related expenses, A&P expenses, and provisions for doubtful debts.
- Credit Control: Identify and mitigate credit risks while providing insights into customer payment behavior to the Sales and FP&A teams.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales teams to resolve billing disputes and collection hurdles.
- Process Excellence: Act as the AR Key User for SAP, ensuring process adherence, participating in regression tests, and liaising with external service providers for outsourced activities.
- Compliance: Maintain AR records in accordance with international accounting standards, local regulations, and internal company policies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- Education: An Associate or University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a dedicated Accounts Receivable or Credit Control role.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience within the FMCG sector is highly advantageous.
- Mindset: A result-driven approach with a keen eye for detail. You should be able to simplify complex financial data into clear messages and demonstrate an "owner" mindset in driving operational excellence.
