ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll help elementary students build the motor, movement, and functional skills they need to fully participate in learning and everyday school life. Working primarily at a K–5 elementary school in Tacoma, with 1–2 days supporting another elementary school in South King County, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of educators and specialists to provide student-centered, culturally responsive care. In this role, you’ll assess student needs, design engaging interventions that support fine and gross motor development, and partner with teachers, families, and community resources to extend support beyond the classroom. You’ll also join a team of fun, compassionate OTs who prioritize joy, best practices, and meaningful student relationships. With a manageable caseload of about 25 students and one remote day each week for documentation and preparation, this role allows you to focus on what matters most—helping students grow, participate, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy initial assessments and reassessments for children with occupational therapy needs
• Document evaluations in a thorough and professional manner
• Provide in-depth occupational therapy consultation for teachers, providing professional insights for early OT interventions for their students
• Provide occupational therapy services to students in support of their needs and treatment goals
• Work collaboratively with other Seneca staff members including, Speech and Language Pathologists, Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists,
• Clinicians, and Student Support Assistants
• Assist in providing in-service training in gross and fine motor skills, sensory motor regulations, as well as posture and movement to parents, teachers, administrators and other professionals
• Assist in coordinating, communicating and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriate

Requirements

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current license by the Washington Department of Health for Occupational Therapy
• Experience with language techniques, sensory motor integration, and physical restoration 
• Own vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

Schedule

Full Time

• Monday to Friday: 8 AM - 4:30 PM (ability to work occasional flexible schedule when school needs vary)
• 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 33 paid school break days

• Starting at $83,047 - $97,047 per year
