Join our Global Investment Banking M&A Group as a Vice President/Executive Director.As a Vice President/Executive Director in Japan M&A team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team and lead real-time transactions that can shape the industry landscape and global economy. In this pivotal role, you will be involved in business origination and transaction execution, allowing you to showcase your strong functional skills and develop towards a leadership position by originating and executing your own transactions. Job responsibilities
- Act as a day-to-day leader focused on M&A, originating and executing M&A transactions from the Japan platform as well as JPMorgan's global clients, covering clients across all sectors rather than specializing in a particular industry.
- Lead dialogue with clients and transaction/marketing counterparties, winning mandates in collaboration with coverage partners and senior bankers.
- Collaborate and liaise with various coverage partners, both in Japan and globally, in origination and execution.
- Collaborate and liaise with other product groups such as ECM, DCM, and Markets to cross-sell other products.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- More than 6 years' work experience in an investment banking front office role
- A well-rounded academic background from a top-tier educational institution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and influence clients, professionals, and counterparties in both Japanese and English
- Self-directed, highly motivated and able to work independently and proactively
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills to lead project teams in execution
- Understands transaction cycle and the steps in the process
- Strong financial analytical skills
