Description
The Arts-in-Medicine (AIM) Program at the University of New Mexico is seeking a licensed massage therapist with training in oncology massage to join our team as a contracted vendor. Under the direction of our program director, this massage therapist will provide chair massage and foot massage for outpatients at UNM’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.This role is ideal for a therapist who feels called to serve in a medical setting and who has experience in working with individuals facing serious illness.
Schedule and Availability
- The AIM program follows an academic schedule:
- Fall Semester: September through mid-December
- Spring Semester: mid-January through mid-May
- Shifts are scheduled in 2.5-hour increments on:
- Wednesdays or Thursdays: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Semester schedules are set in advance to allow therapists to maintain private practice clients
Requirements
Requirements
- Current State of New Mexico Massage Therapy License
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Training in oncology massage
- Professionalism, sensitivity, and comfort working in a medical environment
- Strong communication skills
