- Licensed Camp Lead

The Day Camp Lead Counselor is responsible for providing supervision, instruction, and ongoing assistance to the Camp Staff. Camp Lead will facilitate, develop, and implement a daily program for Day Camp. A primary function of this role is to ensure daily routine and program plan is communicated throughout the entire staff. The Day Camp Lead Counselor will assign tasks (set up/take down of equipment/supplies, etc.); assign staff to supervise campers daily and on field trips; assign staff to assist in the implementation of activities; follow protocol regarding handling of behaviors and special needs; support staff that need to administer all medical protocols; communicate all pertinent issues affecting programs to the all Staff; establish good rapport with families of the program campers as well as keeping them informed about concerns affecting the campers.

Job Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age,
- Demonstrate ability to work with children, and must have completed at least one (1) of the following qualifications:
a. Must have at least three (3) months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) who are not related to the individual; or.
b. A current early childhood professional credential level I one (1) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department based on its Early Childhood - Professional Credential 3.0 Worksheet, found at https://www.coloradoshinespdis.com/s/about-the-ecpc?language=en_US
- Will receive CPR/first aid, Medication Administration, and Universal Precautions certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Must have a satisfactory review with the Central Registry of Child Protection.
- Provide three references
Education and Experience
- High School diploma required.
- Valid Colorado driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage, and clean driving record for the past three years.
- Have the ability to drive a 12-passenger van.
- Experience taking care of children ages 5 to 12 years in a public atmosphere is required.
- Must have customer service experience and good conflict management skills.
- Knowledge of youth games, activities, and arts and crafts projects is also desired.
- Ability to be on your feet for 6-8 hours and lift 40lbs.

Work Environment
- Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity.
- Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.
- Work may occur in environments with poor acoustics, distractions, or high activity levels.
- The position may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, chemically treated water, or other environmental irritants.
- Some tasks will be performed in wet, humid, or damp environments, such as pools or aquatic facilities.
- Occasional travel by vehicle may be required, with exposure to traffic, road construction, and varying road conditions
Physical Activities
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.
- Ability to reach, grasp, and handle small objects, tools, or equipment with precision.
- Requires adequate hearing to recognize and respond to sounds, signals, or distress in a variety of environments.
- Duties may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time.
- Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies.
- Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking loudly, when necessary, in noisy or outdoor environments.
- Ability to work most of the day on your feet, performing both active supervision and hands-on tasks.
