Position Summary
ASNT is seeking a design-minded Learning Technologist who thrives at the intersection of adult learning, instructional innovation, and emerging technologies. This early-career role is ideal for someone energized by building, experimenting, and problem-solving in a fast-evolving learning environment.
The Learning Technologist will be a key player in designing and producing engaging, modular, and scalable learning experiences. They will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), the Content Strategist, and the Education Program Manager to build innovative training products—from microcredentials to AI-enhanced eLearning.
This is not a traditional instructional design or LMS administrator role. We’re looking for someone who brings foundational instructional design knowledge and is comfortable developing new ways of delivering technical training using tools like AI, video automation, and modern authoring platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Course & Content Development
- Design and build high-quality digital learning experiences including:Modular eLearning
- Microcredentials and badge-based learning
- On-demand courses
- Instructor-led training (ILT) assets
- Adaptive or competency-based modules
- Video scripts and AI-generated learning visuals
- Use authoring tools (Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, or similar) to create learner-centered content
- Organize and structure learning materials for reuse, modularity, and rapid deployment
- Technology & AI-Enhanced Production
- Work within ASNT’s learning ecosystem (Forj LMS, Engageli, Synthesia, and more)
- Apply strong technical skills to template courses, manage assets, and troubleshoot issues
- Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Descript, Midjourney) for:Rapid content prototyping
- Video automation
- Storyboarding and script development
- Design for compatibility with SCORM/xAPI and accessibility guidelines
- Collaboration & Workflow
- Partner with SMEs to translate complex technical content into accessible learning materials
- Collaborate with Content Strategist and Education Program Manager to align with broader educational strategy
- Manage concurrent projects with version control, asset tracking, and iterative delivery cycles

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in instructional technology, learning design, education, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in instructional technology or eLearning development
- Demonstrated experience with at least one major authoring tool (e.g., Articulate 360, Rise)
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and modern instructional models
- Hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline content development or asset creation
- Strong technical aptitude and quick learner of new tools/platforms
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Preferred
- Experience in association, credentialing, or certification settings
- Familiarity with LMS administration or structured learning ecosystems
- Understanding of adaptive learning, modular design, or competency-based training
- Exposure to video production or AI-generated video (e.g., Synthesia)
