Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill
Analyzes to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
Develops and implements project requirements for cost control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures
Ensures work is completed as scheduled, supporting project organizational and administrative activities
Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
Reviews identified cost trends for cost effectiveness and suggesting alternatives when appropriate
Maintains open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Experience and demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for cost management activities.
Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems driven by data.
Advanced knowledge of Bechtel's financial reporting systems (CFAR), controller account codes, and cost management system (Ecosys).
Advanced knowledge of Bechtel's standard cost reporting including the PFSR, QURR, CoCo etc.
Must be able to independently provide guidance, training and coaching to junior and mid-grade Cost Engineers with multiple backgrounds and experience.
Must have excellent communications and presentation skills to combine sound analytical cost engineering principles with the ability to summarize, reach appropriate conclusions, and present to management teams.
