Description
A privately held asset management firm is looking to recruit a new investment analyst in London to supplement the resources that are available to its investment team. The asset management firm specialises in investing in publicly traded non-US equity securities. Investments are made for the firm’s clients on a long only basis. No derivatives or similar financial instruments are used.
The asset management firm is a well-established, successful organisation with a multi-decade track record of outperformance relative to industry benchmarks. The asset management firm, whose investment activities are conducted through its London office, has a broad institutional client base.
Requirements
EDUCATION / ATTRIBUTES
- Graduate with a good degree pass.
- CFA charterholder. Additional qualifications may be beneficial.
- Five to ten years’ experience working in financial markets, mainly as an investment analyst.
- Knowledge of financial accounting principles and financial accounts obtained via on-the-job experience is essential (e.g., working for a public accounting firm, within the research groups at financial services firms, asset management firms, in a corporate setting or elsewhere).
- Multilingual abilities are preferred, but not essential.
- Knowledge of FactSet or similar research tools and platforms is helpful, but not essential.
- Must show numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently and within a small team.
- A successful candidate must have permission to work in the United Kingdom by the start of their employment (e.g., via citizenship, permanent residency, settled status, indefinite leave to remain or another alternative scheme).

HOURS AND OFFICE WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Standard hours for this role will be 8:00AM to 6:00PM, with an hour for lunch. International travel will be required. Flexibility will be required to make sure business requirements are met. Hours may evolve depending on the specific needs of the business.
The asset management firm has a strong ‘work from the office’ culture. The firm believes that its business is more likely to succeed if all staff work from its London office five days a week. A successful candidate will understand the advantages that working from the office five days a week can provide to the firm’s business, the firm’s clients and to a candidate’s personal career development.
