AQT Capital is a global best-ideas generalist long/short hedge fund that launched May 1, 2025. The CIO has spent the past 17 years on the buyside, having most recently been a partner at two top-tier, single manager $1B+ global long/short funds. The team consists of 4 people located in the SF Bay Area. We are looking for an Analyst to join our team as an early member of a growing organization. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of global investment ideas across a wide range of industries, sourced by our leadership and proprietary software platform. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the public markets and be excited by the complex challenges of working on a diverse set of names and projects. The fund features an active internal data science effort to assist the Investment Team with research processes and tracking.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine financial models to support the analysis of long and short investment opportunities across various sectors and geographies
• Identify what matters to an investment and conduct creative value-added primary research to answer key investment questions
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal investment discussions
• Undertake ad hoc projects as directed by leadership, aimed at enhancing investment theses and portfolio decisions

Requirements

Requirements:

• Passion for public markets investing, both long and short
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Math or hard sciences, with strong academic performance. Unconventional backgrounds are encouraged if the applicant can demonstrate exceptional passion and understanding of public markets.
• 3-10 years of experience in a role that requires rigorous financial and/or business analysis and strategic thinking. Experience in private equity, management consulting, investment banking, equity research, or a similar field preferred.
• Proficient in financial modeling and Excel
• Dynamic problem-solving skills, with the ability to think analytically and creatively
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating investment insights and recommendations clearly
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
