About the Role
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will play a key role in delivering a broad range of HR functions while providing front-line support to employees and leaders. This role combines technical HRMS expertise with hands-on HR generalist responsibilities across the entire employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1) HR Systems, Data & Process Administration
- Learn, support, and administer the UKG HR system, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) and applying sound judgment to troubleshooting and user support.
- Configure workflows, forms, and system processes to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant HR operations.
- Monitor data integrity, generate reports, and contribute insights to continuous improvement initiatives.
2) Employee Relations & Front-Line HR Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, interpreting HR policies, procedures, and programs in a consistent and practical manner.
- Support day-to-day employee relations matters by assessing situations, providing guidance, and escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in all employee and leader interactions.
3) Talent Acquisition & Workforce Transitions
- Manage end-to-end recruitment activities for production roles, including candidate assessment, interview support, and hiring documentation.
- Contribute to recruitment strategies and community outreach initiatives such as job fairs.
- Apply HR best practices to onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and exit/stay interviews.
4) Policy, Compliance & HR Documentation
- Apply employment legislation and internal policies to support consistent and compliant people practices.
- Draft, review, and maintain HR documentation, including employee handbook content and workplace resources.
- Deliver and support training related to HR policies, procedures.
- Prepare employment-related documentation with attention to accuracy, compliance, and organizational standards.
5) HR Programs, Compensation & Culture Support
- Support compensation-related processes by applying established guidelines and ensuring accurate documentation for production roles.
- Contribute to HR program administration, including job changes, pay updates, and data validation.
- Support training, engagement, and culture initiatives that reinforce a positive and respectful workplace.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- CPHR designation (or working toward) is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or similar role.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly; experience with HRIS/HRMS platforms is required (UKG is an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and comfort working with HR data and reporting.
- Effective communication skills and a service-oriented, practical approach to employee support.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
