The Role
As our Head of Charter Sales, you will lead and scale one of the most dynamic charter brokerage teams in private aviation. This is a senior leadership role within a publicly traded aviation company, responsible for managing and expanding an existing team of 24 sales professionals, with executive approval to double the size of the team in the coming months. You will report directly to the VP of Sales and play a critical role in driving revenue growth, shaping sales strategy, building infrastructure, and developing top-tier talent.
This is not a maintenance role, it is a scale role. We are looking for a proven sales leader who has successfully built, trained, and expanded high-performing brokerage teams, ideally across multiple charter or aviation brokerage platforms. The right candidate understands how to implement process, accountability, and performance standards while maintaining a high-energy, entrepreneurial culture. This hybrid position is based in Los Angeles at our Hawthorne Airport office and requires an in-office leadership presence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and scale a 24-person charter sales organization, with a clear mandate to expand and develop the team.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new sales executives to support approved headcount growth.
Establish performance standards, compensation alignment, KPIs, and accountability systems to consistently exceed revenue targets.
Coach and mentor sales professionals at all experience levels, elevating individual and team performance.
Develop and execute scalable sales processes that support high lead volume and rapid growth.
Analyze sales data, operational metrics, and pipeline performance to forecast revenue and identify opportunities for optimization.
Refine qualification methodologies and ensure disciplined pipeline management across the team.
Create and implement strategic initiatives to penetrate new markets and expand enterprise and high-net-worth client acquisition.
Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to align revenue growth with company objectives.
Evaluate and implement technology tools that increase efficiency, visibility, and conversion performance.
Coordinate with marketing on lead generation, content creation, and promotions.
Represent Surf On Demand at industry events, trade association meetings, and key partner engagements.
Serve as a senior leader within the organization, contributing to company-wide strategic initiatives.
Any other duty or task as needed or assigned.
Experience:
7+ years of sales leadership experience, with direct management of 15+ sales professionals.
Demonstrated experience scaling a sales organization in a brokerage, charter, aviation, or high-performance transactional sales environment.
Experience working across multiple brokerages or sales platforms strongly preferred.
Proven success recruiting, training, and developing high-performing sales teams.
Track record of consistently driving significant revenue growth in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication, as well as quantitative analysis skills.
Experience in customer relationship management systems and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
Strong business sense and industry expertise.
Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
Consistent track record of producing successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
High adaptability and understanding of change within the evolution of a scaling public company.
Growth mindset: ability and desire to learn and pivot use of skill sets based on business needs.
Compensation
Competitive base salary plus performance-based compensation tied directly to overall team results.Miscellaneous Requirements:

Physical requirements:
- Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position in a normal office environment.
- Must be able to communicate through verbal, written and electronic means.
- Must be able to access filing cabinets, drawers, and shelves of varying height.
- Must be able to move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.
