Description
OverviewDescription: As a key member of the Golf Management Team, the Head Golf Professional will oversee the total golf operation and services offered including the golf shop, golf range, golf services areas and golf car operation including supervision of the assistant golf professionals. The position will promote an exceptional "golf experience," and provide excellent services and programs for all patrons.
Supervised By: Director of Golf
Supervises: Assistant Professionals, Golf Shop Attendants, Locker Room Manager and Outside Service Staff
Experience Required
- PGA or LPGA Member in good standing
- Tournament and teaching operations at a private facility
- Leadership and management skills. Ability to create a "go first" culture
- Proficient in computer applications including Golf Genius Tournament Software, and Microsoft Outlook
- Excellent communication/relational skills, an outgoing personality, professional appearance, and passion and enthusiasm for the business
- Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist Director of Golf with the planning, promotion, and direction of all golf activities
- Oversee the reservation system, starting, and monitoring of play
- Oversee the administration of the handicap program
- Develop and manage a creative member tournament program
- Develop and oversee instructional programs for members
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of all outside staff and locker room attendants.
- Operate, lead and manage the golf operation in absence of the Director of Golf
- Play golf with members of all skill levels
- Maintain close working relationship with the Superintendent and other department heads
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf revenues and expenses
- Assist with end of month activities including performing and approving monthly inventories
- Manage all golf related assets such as golf carts, range equipment, and electronic equipment
- Work in conjunction with the Golf Shop Manager regarding soft goods, hard goods and accessories for the golf shop
- Represent the club in area professional events including local, state, or national events with the approval of the Director of Golf

¨ Paid Time Off: Paid time off will begin accruing after 90
days of employment.

¨ Holiday Pay: Eligible for 7 Paid Holidays per year after 90
days of employment.
¨ Group Benefits: Eligible to participate in the group health
insurance program upon 90 days of employment. 82/18
plan.
¨ 401K Plan: Available after 1 year.
¨ Professional Development: Club pays 100% of PGA Annual
Dues. Additional educational expenses are budgeted
annually with approval from the Director of Golf.
