OverviewStratham, NH / The Golf Club of New England, a private, non-equity club, located in the New Hampshire Seacoast area is looking for its next Head Golf Professional.
GCNE, established in 2003, is a modern Arnold Palmer design, unique to New England. A wonderful championship 18-hole layout has hosted several championships, including the 2012 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship (the first U.S.G.A. Championship to be held in New Hampshire), the New Hampshire Men's and Women's Amateur Championships as well as the 2014 New England PGA Section Championship.The club is dedicated to providing unparalleled service and unique experiences for members, their families, and guests.
The ideal candidate will serve as a leader at The Golf Club of New England, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, while fostering strong relationships with members and staff. Understanding and alignment with GCNE's high service standards and culture is essential. This is a year-round position, though seasonal status may be considered for the right candidate.
Experience Required
- PGA Class A member or actively pursuing PGA membership
- Three or more years of leadership and experience at a high-level private club
- Service understanding and commitment to members, guests, and fellow staff
- Team oriented with strong leadership skills, training and mentoring staff
- Experience in organizing and executing member and corporate events
- Strong interpersonal skills paired with efficient oral and written skills
- Proficient in Windows operating systems - Outlook, Word, Excel, and club-based POS/accounting/member billing system/JONAS
- Strong tournament operations experience with Golf Genius
- Organized, detail-oriented, professional appearance
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Golf in managing day-to-day golf operations
- Deliver exceptional member experiences, programs, tournaments, and golf instruction
- Oversee management of the golf shop, creating an environment of genuine hospitality and sincere enthusiasm with members, guests, and staff
- Assist with the golf shop retail program.Promoting merchandise sales, purchasing, inventory control and merchandising
- Train, motivate, and develop Golf Shop staff to ensure effective sales performance, customer service, and product knowledge
- Recruit, supervise, train, and motivate Outside staff with a hands-on approach to create and maintain the highest levels of service
- Maintain accurate records of member and guest play
- Conduct individual lessons and group clinics for players of all skell levels
- Maintain a professional image and demeanor
