Description

FDU (Division I) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach, Women's Volleyball. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach is responsible for organizing and conducting an intercollegiate athletic program at the Division I level. The program shall be conducted under the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Division I, the Northeast Conference, and the University. The incumbent is also responsible for supervising Assistant Coaches; teaching, evaluating and refining sport specific skill development for student-athletes; and recruitment of qualified student-athletes within the university and NCAA Division I guidelines.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor’s or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
• Five-plus years of volleyball coaching experience at the intercollegiate level, preferably Division I.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Communicates effectively in one-to-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts; writes precise, well-organized emails, letters and proposals while using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
• Plans, organizes and schedules in an efficient, productive manner; anticipates contingencies and demonstrates flexibility. Excellent organizational skills and pays attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
• Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
