Red Horse Strategies, a leading progressive political consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Finance and Accounting Manager to join our team. 

The Role:

The Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for all financial operations of the company, including invoicing, accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and coordination with external financial partners. This role ensures accurate financial tracking, timely payments, and full compliance with state and federal requirements. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Invoicing & Accounts Receivable
  • Track all work product produced for client invoicing
  • Produce invoices on a monthly basis and as needed
  • Track money owed and produce reports for collection follow-up
• Accounting & QuickBooks
  • Maintain and manage QuickBooks accounts
  • Produce financial reports as requested, including:
    • Money owed
    • Money collected
    • Year-to-date sales
    • Any additional reports required by the accountant
  • Reconcile QuickBooks with bank accounts for accountant review
• Payroll & Benefits
  • Work with payroll provider to:
    • Process payroll and bonuses
    • Onboard new staff
    • Handle all payroll-related tasks
  • Liaise with benefits and financial partners, including:
    • Accountant
    • 401(k) provider
    • Insurance providers (disability, workers’ comp, liability)
• Contracts & Independent Contractors
  • Execute contracts for new clients
  • Produce subcontractor forms for NYC-based clients
  • Pay all freelancers and independent consultants

Requirements

Skills and Experience:

• Competency with Quickbooks, Excel, and Google Suite
• At least 5 years of experience in similar finance and accounting roles
• Ability to execute quality, independent work
• Strong project-management, time-management, and organizational skills
• A comfort with coordinating with internal and external teams
• Experience in finance and accounting roles at a comparably sized company is a plus
• The ability to build strong relationships among a diverse group of people is a must

This position has a very generous benefits package, including flexible/remote work location options, health care, 401(k), and flexible vacation and personal time. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - 120,000 annual salary.
