The Washington State Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign is seeking Field Organizers to join our 2026 campaign cycle. With multiple targeted congressional and legislative races across the state, our Field Organizers will be critical to the success of midterm races in 2026.

These positions will report to Regional Field Directors. This job is a full-time, campaign cycle position, with an end date of November 15, 2026 and is part of a collective bargaining unit. Evening and weekend work will be required, particularly as we get closer to the 2026 General Election. 

Organizers will be hired for the following broad target regions. These are geographically expansive areas; while being based within the region is a plus, it is not required to apply.

• Field Organizers are responsible for building robust volunteer networks and serving as liaisons within the community and their region.
• Unwavering commitment to winning Democratic majorities at all levels in Washington state and a demonstrated commitment to the Democratic Party.
• Demonstrated ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a diverse staff, activists, allies, and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, campaign-style environment; meet ambitious goals and deadlines; and adapt quickly.

Experience

• Experience working with volunteers, customer service, or other public-facing roles.
• Past political organizing experience as a fellow or volunteer preferred
• Familiarity with Votebuilder/VAN is a bonus
• Ability to adapt to evolving priorities
• Comfortable working in metrics and a deadline-driven environment
• Access to reliable transportation across the entirety of the organizing region and the ability to work evening and weekend hours
• Comfortable scheduling self, volunteers, and constituents for events/meetings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Responsibilities

• Recruit, coach, train, and manage volunteer leaders across the state who are ready to talk to voters and take on management of their own teams of volunteers.
• Support targeted 2026 candidates by running direct voter contact events, including in-person and virtual phone banks and canvasses.
• Organize at the “grasstops” level, building authentic and accountable relationships with community leaders to create a coalition willing to take direct action to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
• Use various organizing tactics, including but not limited to 1:1 conversations, phone calls, texting, knocking on doors, and social media engagement to grow our network of action-oriented volunteers.
• Meet high-volume weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals, including substantial phone outreach targets. Field Organizers should expect a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with consistent accountability to quantitative goals.
• Work to create a professional staff culture that is upbeat and empowering, with a mind towards greater inclusion, a customer-service attitude, and a willingness to solve problems creatively.
• Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with local party leaders, activist groups, and partner organizations so that we have strong and robust partnerships in advance of the 2026 election.
• Consistently meet deadlines and communicate with your direct supervisor when challenges arise that will prevent you and/or your team from meeting your goals.
• A commitment to creatively solving challenges that will occur with goals, strategies, and tactics.
