Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
VOLUNTEER SUPERVISION
Recruits, screens and trains community volunteers.
Conducts background checks on all trained volunteers.
Facilitates and/or oversees volunteer training:
Using the established curriculum of National CASA.
Meets all National CASA training requirements for new volunteers.
Conducts monthly in-service training with CASA/GAL volunteers. Keeps record of agendas, minutes and attendance at monthly training.
Assigns cases, reviews and approves reports, and provides feedback on assignments through regular contact with volunteers.
Submits all CASA/GAL court reports to the Court and e-mails reports to all parties via E-filing System
Provides technical assistance, guidance, support and information to volunteers.
Ensures individual case preparation for the representation of the best interest of assigned children in court proceedings.
Attempts to resolve casework or intrapersonal problems with CASA/GAL volunteers.
Identifies and uses methods to recognize contributions of CASA/GAL volunteers.
REPORTING & RECORD KEEPING
Assures that a report is submitted for every court hearing involving a CASA/GAL except for Disposition hearings.
Prepares quarterly statistics and case lists as required by Grantees and State and National CASA.
Enters and manages case-related information through Optima software.
Maintains volunteer and any other files that may include case information.
PLANNING & EVALUATION
Develops long and short term goals for program growth, development and funding strategies.
Develop specific plans for volunteer recruitment.
Develops public relations strategies.
Evaluates program accomplishments, problems and needs within the county and statewide.
FUNDRAISING, MARKETING, & COMMUNITY COLLABORATION
Responsible for all marketing and communications for the organization, including: volunteer recruitment and retention, fundraising, donor and community events, and community relations.
Develops and implements diverse revenue streams and maintains income to sustain organization without external assistance. This includes community fundraising, grant writing, developing and maintaining relationships with Foundations and Federal funding sources.
Maintains working relationships with DPHHS and other social service providers including identifying all available social services for children and families.
Make presentations to local organizations and Program Donors to provide information and/or stimulate interest in the CASA/GAL Program.
Works cooperatively with the State CASA Director as well as other CASA Directors around the state.
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BOARD
Allows Board to monitor performance.
Is helpful in facilitating Board decisions.
Informs Board members of organizational activities, progress and problems.
Keeps Board informed of fiscal decisions.
FISCAL & PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Works with the Board of Directors to plan and organize fundraisers.
Works with our accountant to ensure Monthly and Quarterly and Year End Reports
Works with our accountant and Board of Directors to prepare an annual budget.
Explores and implements various other funding strategies.
Keeps all Program Insurance Policies up to date.
Track and Maintain Donor Information
Maintain a good and open relationship with the programs Donor base.
Requirements
The CASA/GAL Executive Director should have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social-service related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated professional experience in non-profit, public administration, or social service fields.
The ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles.
The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities and organizations.
Commitment to CASA/GAL’s mission, goals and standards.
Computer literacy with proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom, and have the ability to use various digital databases, reporting tools, financial recordkeeping, and social media platforms.
The ability to Supervise and work with other Program Employees
Grant writing and fundraising experience.
SALARY & BENEFITS
65K Annual Salary
Up to $850 insurance premium reimbursement (QSEHRA)
Flexible work hours after first 6 months; up to 10 hours per week remote
15 days of PTO (vacation and sickness absence) plus major holidays including:
