Our client is an international asset management firm with an unparalleled reputation across the globally and across the Asia Pacific region. With the continued growth of the organization, the need has arisen to recruit a high caliber candidate to join their research team.

You will be part of the Japan Equity Research team to help the company own the best performing stocks and to ensure strong performance in the portfolios. You should be a Japan Generalist with, preferably exposure to chemical and small mid cap sectors with the following responsibilities:

• Perform bottom-up fundamental research on your assigned secgor coverage universe
• Make recommendations to Portfolio Managers by providing insight and stock recommendations
• Create and maintain detailed financial models and forecasts
• Keep abreast of industry trends in the assigned sector coverage

To be considered, you should be degree holder with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience covering Japanese equities as a buy-side or sell-side research analyst. You should be highly motivated, confident self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong English and Japanese capability in writing and speaking is a must together with demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth thematic research across a broad spectrum of topics which can be additive to the investment process.
