About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading Asian financial institution with a diversified business across multiple streams. This role sits within their hedge fund division running a fundamental long/short global equity strategy - where you will work directly with the Portfolio Manager who founded and built the division from the ground up in Hong Kong.

The fund has delivered double-digit growth, and the team is positioned to expand. This is a genuine opportunity to grow with the platform: strong performers will be allocated a virtual book to manage as an analyst, providing fully transparent bonus calculation. Coverage

The fund runs deep coverage across:

• Media
• Consumer
• Technology - including semiconductors and the broader technology value chain (hardware and software)
• Energy & Power - spanning conventional energy as well as renewables and clean power (wind, solar, nuclear, and geothermal)

Markets covered are predominantly the United States and China, with rigorous, in-depth fundamental research across both aimed at identifying mis-pricing opportunities.

What You'll Do

• Conduct deep fundamental research and build differentiated investment theses across the Technology sector.
• Cover US and China-listed equities, including financial statement analysis, modelling, and primary research
• Work side-by-side with the Portfolio Manager to generate and refine high-conviction long and short ideas
• Monitor positions, catalysts, and sector developments to support portfolio decisions

What We're Looking For

• Likely 4-8 years of equity research experience with a demonstrable track record in Technology
• A sharp, intellectually curious mindset, with strong analytical ability and a genuine drive to learn and grow
• Excellent academic credentials from a top-tier university
• Prior experience covering or working within the relevant sectors is strongly preferred
• Languages: English and Mandarin required (written and spoken) for China coverage; Cantonese advantageous
• High motivation to grow with the firm and build a long-term career on a performance-led platform
