Position: Enrollment and Academic Success Coach- Direct Support Professional Pathway(Grant Funded)
The Enrollment and Student Support Specialist works within the Workforce department at Rockland Community College and reports directly to the Director of Workforce Innovation and Industry Partnerships, with a dotted line to the Dean of Career and Workforce Innovation. This role is responsible for recruiting, enrolling, and providing holistic coaching to support students' successful progression and completion of workforce programming and the Direct Support Professional micro-credentials. As funded partially by a grant through SUNY and the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities, this position is responsible for partnership development with relevant agencies, recruitment, and enrollment of the Direct Support Professional micro-credentials offered through Rockland Community College. This position is also expected to collaborate closely with the Associate Director of Workforce Innovation, the Academic Coach for the Direct Support Professional pathway, as well as the other enrollment and student support specialists and the department's Director of Workforce Innovation and Industry Partnerships.
The Enrollment Specialist will need to be a motivated, self-starter with people skills such as excellent communicator and possess a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of the Direct Support Professional micro-credentials.
- Work closely with the Academic Coach for the Direct Support Professional micro-credentials to support student success, course completion, and achievement of NADSP badges.
- Use program knowledge to effectively inform and advise prospective students in determining programs of interest that are best suited to meet students' goals.
- Attend recruitment events throughout Rockland County and the Hudson Valley region.
- Effectively handle in-person, phone, and email inquiries from prospective, current, and past students.
- Engage in professional development and training for best practices in holistic student supports, advisement, enrollment, and credit curriculum.
- Facilitate in-person and virtual information sessions regarding workforce programs and micro-credential programs and support.
- Develop partnerships with agencies employing Direct Support Professionals for the micro-credentials offered by the college.
- Manage small and mid-scale projects independently and collaboratively.
- Effectively utilize the organization's enrollment management system, ensuring that data aligns to reporting needs.
- Complete research in support of grant reporting process.
- Provide recruitment and enrollment updates to the workforce department.
- Conduct labor market and training competitor analyses.
- Complete other duties, as requested by supervisor, Director of Workforce Innovation and Industry Partnerships, and Dean for Career and Workforce Innovation.
- Work evenings/weekends as needed during peak enrollment seasons.
- Oversee and supervise the part-time Academic Support Coach- Direct Support Professional Pathway
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education and 1-2 years of job-related experience in recruitment, admissions, and/or academic support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communicator
- Attention to detail
- Computer literacy
- Student focused
- Background in working with diverse students and/or community members
- Effective organizational skills
- Knows how to build relationships with internal and external partners
- Bilingual is a plus (Creole, French, Spanish, or Yiddish)
Starting Salary: $63,00 - $65,000
