The Longview School District has an opening for
DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION - ADMINISTRATION
1.0 FTE – Beginning July 1, 2026

SUPERVISOR: Executive Director of Special Education
Summary: The Director of Special Education assists the Executive Director of Special Education with daily oversight of district and building level programs. The Director is an extension of the Executive Director of Special Education and works closely with them to ensure compliance and student achievement of goals with the target of improved student outcomes. The Director works with specialized teams, building-level teams, and families to assure quality of services and supports for students with disabilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Contract Term: 260 days (221 contracted days, 14 holidays & 25 vacation days); estimated start date: July 1, 2026
Salary: $157,145 - $171,238 [WE1] based on qualifications and experience.

Disclosure Statement and Background Check: Pursuant to RCW 43.43.830 through RCW 43.43.840, new employees will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating any convictions of crimes against persons as listed in the law. In addition, a background check based on fingerprints will be requested from the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
