In Human Resources Department at Main Campus Children's of Alabama
Work schedule will be on-site, Full-time Day Shift, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
Summary:
Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of benefits/wellness strategy and programs; providing strategic analysis on competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of existing and new programs; leading implementations and project teams while working with vendors and internal resources; managing all vendor relationships; ensuring compliance of benefit and retirement program with various local, state federal and governmental regulations including Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Employee retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) reporting and disclosure requirements and annual filings (such as 5500s) and managing a team of direct and indirectly reporting employees.

Primary medical care is provided in more than a dozen communities across central Alabama. Children’s is the only health system in Alabama dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children. It is a private, not-for-profit medical center that serves as the teaching hospital for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) pediatric medicine, surgery, psychiatry, research and residency programs. The medical staff consists of UAB faculty and Children’s full-time physicians as well as private practicing community physicians.

* Bachelors of Science or Arts
Experience Requirements:
Essential:
* 10 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of employee benefits administration with at least 5 years leading a benefits team

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills
Proven track record in developing collaborative partnerships with HR functions, management, and outside vendors that drive results
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively represent the company and interact with inside and outside customers
