Our fast-growing European Competition practice wants to hear from motivated, ambitious economists, who are passionate about the rigor of their analysis and can express complex concepts clearly. Our work focuses on mergers, antitrust matters, regulation, state aid, and litigation. Our clients come from all sectors and multiple jurisdictions. We help them with risk assessment and compliance by producing practical solutions to real-world problems. We have established offices in Brussels, London, Milan, Paris, and Rome, with further expansion on the horizon as we continue our rapid growth in the region.
We are currently looking for junior Consulting staff to join our Economics Practice in Brussels. We require a highly motivated problem solvers with strong analytical ability and a desire to advance within BRG.
Ideally, you will have a solid analytical ability, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organisation. Your work will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and responsibilities include: reviewing the work of more junior staff, design of statistical and financial analysis, modeling of data and markets, quality control, development and presentation of client deliverables, as well as industry research.
Responsibilities
Develop analyses and economic models' financial models using data.
Generate client deliverables and make valuable contributions to expert reports.
Develop project management skills communicate results and work product as appropriate.
Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions.
Participate in group practice meetings, contribute to business development initiatives and office functions such as staff training and recruiting.
Prioritize assignments and responsibilities in order to meet goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
Must be educated to Masters level as a minimum i(e.g., M.A., M.Sc., PhD etc.) in economics.
Previous internship or work experience with a focus on competition economics or related field.
Proven capability with MS Excel and statistical software/programming languages (e.g., R, Stata or Python ). A desire to expand those capabilities is required, as is the ability to train others to use such tools.
Commitment to producing high quality analysis and attention to detail.
Keen interest in economic analysis and research.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desire to work within a team environment.
