- Collections Representative II
Description
Are you someone who has experience in loss recovery, bankruptcy, litigation and repossession and can hit the ground running?
We would like to welcome a Collection Representative II or III responsible for performing orderly, efficient, and legal collection procedures to protect the Credit Union against loss while insuring full compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations governing the collection process.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Communicates with members to establish mutually acceptable repayment arrangements.
- Takes the appropriate course of action for the successful collection of past due accounts when routine techniques have not been successful.
- Must maintain a positive and professional interaction with members, branch offices and departments.
- In the absence of the Vice President, Collections or Collection Supervisor may provide limited direction and guidance to Collection Representatives to insure loan collection activities meet Credit Union Guidelines.
- May provide delinquent members with financial advice and counseling on a limited basis.
- General hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM- 5:30 pm. Some Saturdays maybe required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:
- College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Minimum three years of experience in collecting direct loans, indirect consumer loans and real estate loans, preferable with a credit union, bank captive finance company or similar organization.
- Prior supervisory or training experience required
- Knowledge of the Akcelerant Collection system or similar collection platform a plus
- Must possess a working knowledge of the rules and regulations relating to the repossession process, liquidation of collateral, collection of charged off loans, bankruptcy and litigation.
- Ability to successfully communicate, both verbally and in writing.
- Effective negotiation skills in verbal and written form. Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency a plus.
- Organized, efficient, thorough and accurate
- Productive, multitask, and results oriented.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Should have sufficient flexibility to work evenings and weekends as may be necessary to address loan delinquency.
PAY RANGE
In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between:
$23.00 - $26.55
Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
