Duties
Under the supervision, the Program Manager is responsible for the operations, including implementation, coordination, and evaluation of services provided for grant-funded youth participants including job preparation, placement and academic enrichment. The Program Manager is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Manage and coordinate the youth WIOA funded program, including supervision of staff to meet goals of the grant, planning strategies, implementing activities and measuring effectiveness to meet grant goals and objectives.
2. Liaison relationships with Cook County workforce Partnership ( CCWP ), educational institutions, vocational training programs, employers, supportive service providers and all other internal and external partners.
3. Plans and implements workshops, provides career exploration and coordinates services with other college departments for program participants. Develops employment plans and support participants seeking employment after completing high school as well as assisting participants who pursue post-secondary education.
4. Performs data entry and monthly tracking of grant participants on the Career Connect system. Provides case management services to grant participants, monitoring them while they are enrolled under the grant, and maintaining case notes and other programmatic documentation with timely and accurate reporting of program performance.
5. Completes program forms, maintains client files, and works with CCWP staff to complete exits and provide follow-up services for participants in compliance with grant requirements.
6. Keeps supervisor up to date on program progress and outcomes.
7. Develops and maintains relationships with various community and government agencies to offer supportive services to program participants.
8. Participates as an active member of the division regarding initiatives and contributes to college-wide services and activities.
9. Prepares and administers grant budget in conjunction with CCWP and MVCC staff. Complies with all CCWP and MVCC documentation requests.
10. Attends subdivision, department, and advisory committee meetings when relevant.
11. Performs related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum three (3) years of experience with federal grants.
Minimum two (2) years' experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( WIOA ) grant programs - WIOA Youth grant experience preferred.
Knowledge of grant funding operations and proven success in grant writing, grant budget development/maintenance/management, staff supervision, project management, assessment/testing, and direct student service.
