The starting salary for this role is $86,200 annually.
About the role:
Oversee the full lifecycle of PenAir's consumer and business card products, systems, and solutions. Ensures operational excellence, drives innovation, and manages a key revenue stream while maintaining competitive offerings aligned with industry trends. Build strong partnerships with vendors, including card processors, networks, and rewards providers—and collaborates among multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless card services that support PenAir's strategic goals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Product Management
- Lead product engagement and oversee servicing systems and solutions for PenAir's consumer and business debit and credit card programs. Manage the administration of card-related systems used across the organization, including card servicing platforms, instant issue equipment, and rewards systems supporting both back-office and member-facing operations. Ensure ongoing product maintenance and innovation are effectively prioritized and delivered.
- Lead the execution of product and system enhancements, feature rollouts, and product migrations in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth and successful implementations.
- Conduct ongoing research and competitive analysis to ensure PenAir's card products remain relevant and differentiated in the marketplace. Continuously evaluate program performance, member engagement, and market trends. Monitor and report on product performance data, usage analytics, and transaction volumes to support data-driven decision-making.
- Project and Campaign Management
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams including Digital Services, Consumer and Business Lending, Project Management, Marketing, Frontline leadership, senior management, and strategic partners.
- Identify opportunities for enhancement and innovation in card offerings. Recommend and implement product changes and campaigns that improve user experience, operational efficiency, and market competitiveness. Align product and project priorities with the credit union's strategic goals and business objectives. prioritize initiatives that meet the evolving needs of both consumer and business segments
- Staff Leadership
- Lead a cohesive, well-trained, and motivated team by providing ongoing support, professional development, and clear leadership to meet departmental goals. Coach team members, set individual performance goals, and manage employee performance to foster growth and accountability.
- Exercise independent judgment in establishing and approving departmental standards and procedures, serving as the primary decision-maker for daily operations.
- Influence internal teams and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in card products, systems, and service delivery.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new Card Services employees and support card-related training initiatives across the organization as needed.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Ensure strong performance across PenAir's consumer and business credit and debit card programs by cultivating effective, collaborative relationships with the card processor and associated partners.
- Evaluate and manage vendor partnerships to drive optimal results, support strategic initiatives, and maintain alignment with organizational goals.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including management experience. Knowledge of card networks and card processing systems and familiarity with relevant regulations governing card products and services.
- (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
- The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
