- Campaigns Director
Description
Red Horse Strategies, a leading progressive political consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Campaigns Director to join our team. A Campaigns Director will be a strong leader who can provide support to our clients, excel when given autonomy over a project, and work well under tight deadlines.
The Role:
- Draft campaign plans; campaign budgets; paid media budgets, including mail, digital, and TV; and tracking documents
- Be an active participant in client calls and meetings, and manage ongoing relationships with campaigns
- Interact with and manage the workflow across all departments on creative items, from mail to videos to brandings, and navigate creatives through external approval processes
- Assist in other projects as needed
Requirements
Skills and Experience:
- The Campaigns Director should have at least 4-6 years of campaign experience. At least 2 cycles of campaign experience should include significant roles overseeing campaign budgets, drafting campaign plans, and either drafting or editing campaign creative; ideally with at least one cycle as senior staff on a campaign team.
- The ability to think creatively about campaign strategy and message is a must
- The ability to collaborate and problem-solve as a team is crucial
- The ability to build strong relationships among a diverse group of people is a must
- This job requires strong proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Excel, and VAN, as well as other basic computer skills
- While this is not a job that requires frequent travel, there may be times where the Campaigns Director is asked to visit campaigns, staff shoots or events, or otherwise travel.
- Flexibility is a must, and, while not required, a valid driver's license is a benefit.
- While we are a national firm, this role will involve significant work in New York and the Northeast, and a basic pre-existing understanding of New York/Northeast politics is a plus
- This is an electoral job, and the Campaigns Director must be able to work campaign hours – including nights and weekends
- In order to thrive in this job, the Campaigns Director should be able to execute independent, quality work under tight deadlines, possess strong project-management and time-management skills, and be able to take feedback well
This position has a very generous benefits package, including flexible/remote work location options, health care, 401(k), and flexible vacation and personal time. The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000, annual salary.
