Purpose of Role
Daemen University invites qualified applicants for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Nursing starting 9/1/26. We seek a dedicated nurse educator committed to student-centered learning, academic excellence, and contributing to a dynamic, collaborative academic community at a liberal arts institution. The faculty member will teach in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs and will contribute to curriculum development, academic advisement, departmental service, and scholarly activity.
About This Opportunity
Joining our Nursing department, the Assistant Professor will be responsible for the following:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Nursing.
Advise a diverse student population regarding academic progression, professional development, and persistence to graduation.
Participate in curriculum design, course development, and continuous improvement to maintain alignment with current nursing practice.
Engage in scholarly, professional, or practice-based activities consistent with tenure-track expectations.
Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities.
Assist with marketing, recruitment, and outreach efforts for the Nursing Department and Daemen University.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and healthcare agency partners to support effective program operations.
Required Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
Active enrollment in a doctoral program in nursing or a related field.
Current RN licensure in New York State.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student success.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field (PhD, DNP, EdD).
Higher education teaching experience.
Evidence of scholarly activity and/or clinical expertise.
Experience working with diverse learners in academic or clinical settings.

Daemen University offers a robust total compensation package that includes:
Health insurance with an option of two plans: an HSA plan with the deductible funded by employer HSA contributions, or a copay plan.
