- Assistant Professor, Radiologic Technology
Description
Instruct courses in radiologic technology. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: student advising, maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, participating in the mentor-mentee program, promoting and supporting extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development, and working across departments to develop student communication, computation, and problem-solving skills. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned, including face-to-face and non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses. This position reports to the Program Director of Radiologic Technology and exercises no supervision. NOTE: This is a security-sensitive position, and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
Requirements
Knowledge of: 1. Instructional materials and equipment needed for all program courses; 2. Process to prepare class schedules; 3. Instructional support/materials needed in the library and for distance learning courses; 4. Trends in teaching/learning theory as it applies to Radiologic Technology; 5. Curriculum revision and proposals; 6. Accreditation requirements to maintain standards and requirements of external accreditation agencies; 7. ADA standards as they apply to instruction; 8. Radiographic procedures, image evaluation, radiation protection, and patient care; Skills in: 9. Organization and time management to effectively balance teaching responsibilities, service to the College, and professional development expectations; Ability to: 10. Represent interests, needs, and perceptions of the program; 11. Develop curriculum; 12. Assist in the implementation of faculty evaluation and development; 13. Perform tasks described in the student advisement policy; 14. Maintain custody of College property, and notify the program director in case of loss, damage, or malfunction; 15. Inform program director of developments in program disciplines; 16. Promote and facilitate community awareness of programs and activities; 17. Maintain collaborative relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including faculty and clinical partners; 18. Support and mentor students, as well as participate in the College's activities; 19. Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; 20. Translate complex radiologic concepts into clear, student-centered instruction; 21. Manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines and compliance requirements; 22. Perform other duties as assigned.
