Description
OverviewThe Assistant Golf Professional supports the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in managing all facets of daily golf operations to ensure a consistently exceptional member and guest experience that reflects the Hallbrook Country Club standard of excellence. This position assists in the coordination of play, tournaments, instruction, merchandising, and staff supervision, serving as a leader and role model within the Golf Operations team. The Assistant Golf Professional will oversee daily operational details and assume full management responsibilities in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.
Experience Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Golf Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of private club experience in a similar role.
• Proven success in teaching, tournament operations, and member service.
• Strong understanding of golf operations, teaching, tournament administration, and merchandising principles.
• Experience with Golf Genius, Clubessential, and EZGO Pace systems preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, service-driven approach.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills; self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff in a positive and professional environment.
• CPR and AED certification preferred.
• Predictable and reliable attendance required.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
Golf Operations & Member Experience
- Collaborate with Golf Professional Staff to deliver a welcoming and organized golf experience.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, golfer check-in, fee collection, tee sheet management, and pace-of-play monitoring.
- Support club tournaments, leagues, and weekly play including:
- Pre-tournament setup
- Course preparation
- Scoring
- Billing
- Prize management
- Maintain communication with Player Services, Locker Room, and Food & Beverage departments.
- Assist with supervision and scheduling of Player Services and Golf Shop staff.
- Serve as an ambassador of Hallbrook's golf culture by playing with members and fostering engagement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Instruction & Player Development
- Conduct private lessons, group clinics, and on-course coaching.
- Support junior programming including:
- Tiny Tour
- Junior Academy
- Elite Juniors
- PGA Junior League (four 13U teams and two 17U teams)
- Utilize TrackMan technology for instruction, club fitting, and player development.
- Maintain current teaching certifications and knowledge of modern instruction methods.
Club Fitting, Club Repair, and Technology
- Provide professional club fitting services using TrackMan and manufacturer fitting systems.
- Offer club repair and maintenance services.
- Support TrackMan data tracking and engagement strategies for Hallbrook's:
- Three TrackMan bays
- TrackMan Range
Merchandising & Administration
- Assist with golf shop merchandising and inventory control.
- Support the Buyer/Merchandiser with buying plans and visual presentation strategies.
- Maintain the USGA GHIN Handicap System.
- Assist with budget planning and operational reporting.
- Maintain records of lessons, fittings, and tournaments.
Leadership & Professional Development
- Lead by example through professionalism and service excellence.
- Mentor Assistant Professionals, interns, and Player Services staff.
- Attend industry seminars and professional education opportunities.
- Maintain a credible playing presence within the Club and community.
