Overview

The Cape Club of Falmouth is a dynamic club just ten minutes over the Bourne Bridge, in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Formerly Ballymeade Country Club, this beautiful property became The Cape Club of Falmouth in late 2014, but did not open until June of 2016 as the Clubhouse and golf course went under extensive renovations for eighteen months. The results proved to be worth the wait.

Individual homes have been added to the property and ground has been broken for the construction of Guest Cottages to benefit wedding guests, golfers and those vacationing on the Cape. Future additions will include a spa and other resort amenities.

Our Falmouth club is a part of our Cape Club Collection, with its sister courses The Cape Club of Sharon in Sharon, MA and The Cape Club of Palm City in Palm City, FL. Members of each club have access to all of the clubs.

Experience Required

Experience working in the golf business prefereed but willing to train the team first oriented candidate interested in making the golf business his/her new career path.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute all point of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/ guest billing.
• Monitor daily tee sheets, perform check-in procedures, and receive payments from members and guests. Settle discrepancies as it applies to incorrect charges and over or under payment.
• Initiate and promote all club golf activities.
• Create lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assist with all merchandise and inventory management. Maintain a working knowledge of the in-stock inventory. Create and maintain unique, presentable displays. Places special orders as necessary.
• Responsible for the preparations for all golf outings including scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets and hole assignments.
• Assist all members' with posting scores to the USGA handicapping service. Run reports from the GHIN service to show handicaps of members.
• Assist the Director of Golf in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining golf employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Have direct oversight in the management of departmental team members that may include, but is not limited to: Golf Shop Attendants, Assistant Professionals, Guest Services, Starters and Player Assistants, with general oversight from the Director of Golf.
• Ensure that effective orientation and training are given to each new golf employee. Assist in developing ongoing training programs.
• Assist the Director of Golf in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member and resort guest satisfaction.
• Assist the Director of Golf conducting staff meetings with subordinates.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Maintain and uphold a professional appearance at all times.
• Perform other duties as required.
